연산적 시: 유령 타자기

본 워크숍은 우리가 일상에서 사용하는 컴퓨터 인터페이스인 키보드, 마우스 데이터를 재료로 창발적인 예술표현을 찾아보는 것이 목적으로 합니다. 참여자는 본 워크숍을 통해 컴퓨터의 입력 장치인 키보드를 대신할 수 있는 칩셋을 사용하여 USB 형태의 매크로 장치를 만들게 됩니다. 이 장치는 단순한 키보드 프레스, 릴리즈만을 이용하여 작성된 코드를 반복하는 장치이지만 반대로 우리가 사용하는 컴퓨팅 환경과 신체에 대한 성찰적 태도를 만들어내는 장치이기도 합니다. 브라우저를 켜고 원하는 SNS에 들어가 답장을 남길 수도 있고, 최신 뉴스를 검색할 수도 있습니다. 또한 메모장을 열고 글을 쓸 수도, 지울수도, 커서를 이동할 수도 있습니다. 장치를 USB를 꽂는 순간부터 레코딩되어 동작되는 수 많은 명령들을, 시간을 통해 다시 들여다 보는 과정은 그 자체로 창발적인 과정이며, 연산되는 시이자 노래입니다.

Computational Poetry: Ghost Typewriter

This workshop aims to explore emergent artistic expressions using data from computer interfaces we use daily, such as keyboards and mice, as materials. Through this workshop, participants will create a USB macro device using a chipset that can replace the computer’s input device, the keyboard. This device is designed to repeat code written solely using simple keyboard presses and releases. However, it also serves as a tool to foster a reflective attitude toward the computing environment we use and our physical interactions with it. It can open a browser and navigate to a desired SNS platform to leave a reply, or search for the latest news. It can also open a notepad to write, erase, or move the cursor. The process of revisiting the countless commands recorded and executed from the moment the device is plugged into the USB port, observed over time, is in itself an emergent process—a poetry of computation and a song.
